On Saturday, October 15, 2011 Town Square Las Vegas welcomes Imagination Celebration for a day and evening of entertainment and fun. Families are invited to come out and enjoy "Celebration of Diversity through the Arts," which will run from noon to 5 p.m. and feature, face painting, and various give-aways, live heritage dance and music performances from a variety of performers including: Lohan School of Shaolin (China); Mexico Vivo Dance Company (Mexico); Asociacion Cultural Peruana de Las Vegas (Peru); Shelby's Show Case Kids; Las Vegas Hula; Friends of India (India); Espiritu Paraguayo (Paraguay); Thai Cultural Arts Association (Thailand); Kotobuki Dance Group (Japan); Tendo Baikoki Dance Group; Ah Ya Helu Dancers (Middle Eastern) and more. In addition, there will be judging for over 800 entries from a valley wide art contest where youth from the Clark County School District were invited to participate in the "What Peace Means to Me" drawing and essay contest. All activities including the Noon to 5pm dance and music performances and Jazz in the Park from 6 to 9 pm are FREE.
Starting at 6 p.m., the evening entertainment in Town Square Park will be the melodic sounds of the modern jazz group Blu7 who will play jazz, Latin, bossa novas, classical, 60's, 70's and contemporary music. Blu7 will be joined by various nationally and internationally acclaimed musicians who showed cased a three month long spring Jazz For Peace Series at Town Square.
